OEM springs FWD vs AWD

Well I ordered some springs for my rear struts as it's sagging about 1.5 in. When looking up parts there were 2 different part numbers for the rear springs, One number for the L,LE,LS models which were mostly all FWD models depending on awd package and another number for the LSI. Note my car was a 1994 FWD and is now AWD. So this leads me to where i'm at now, I ordered the springs for the LSi model as I now have AWD but why do they have 2 different springs, also the LSi springs are a couple dollars more than the L,LE,LS springs. Do they have different spring rates?

Well I found out the differance today when I got my awd spring and sat them beside my old fwd springs. It seems that the awd springs are wound a 1/4 turn tighter than the fwd ones.

I have to take the right rear strut off again next week so i'll save the old springs and take a pic with them beside the new ones. They seem stiffer than the fwd ones.

The differences would make sense. The AWD car weighs over 100lbs more and nearly all of it is in the rear.
