Anybody tried to cancel their AOL account lately?

I'm almost positive the rep wasn't fired. His job is to "save" the customers. He's just doing what he's told to do. Normally they'll start to offer deals like a free month or other "prizes". If anything they just gave him a "new name".

As for the customer he should have just asked for a supervisor.

I have been there like 2 years ago...

Like I said, it would take so long (even 30mins wait) to talk to them and they would find whatever reasons to keep you...

PS: They also have AOL in UK and Canada?

I really don't get it...if you have it billed to a credit card I'm sure they can either put a hold on the charge or you could just close the CC account.

I'd rather be a little more persuasive like this guy than close a whole checking account over it (who would charge a ~$30/mo bill to a credit card?)

actually my aol is $14.95 a month and I have mine going to my CC because I wouldn't want to be foolish enough to give AOL or anyone for that matter my checking account #.

But maybe that is just me though.
