Can I set the PM up to email me if a message comes in ?
The last one I got sat in my inbox for a couple of months before I stumbled across it.

Sure Arthur. Easy enough.

Click profile on the bottom of your message.

Click User CP

Click Edit Options

Click the Yes Radio Button for

"Send you an email when Private Message received?"

That should do it.
