For the first time ever I used a self service car wash.
Cost about $16, amazing how fast those things can scoff $2 coins when you're having fun with a foaming brush. Anyway, pretty good result/ Probably make a habit of it. |

Installed the Bosch relay mod for the starter. Wish I did it years ago.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?
I already had replaced the ignition switch which helped, but then it started coming back over the years. After reinstalling my engine last summer, I continued to have an intermittent slow crank, followed by fast crank that would only be consistently fast if I had it connected to the battery charger.
Still did the same thing with a new Red Top. Finally spent about 8 bucks on the relay, spent an hour wiring it up and BAM. Consitent starting every time.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?
Not a great day replacing the OEM flasher to an LED capable one.
1. For the life of us we could not get the mounting screw removed to drop out the original flasher 2. After realizing the plug had a latching finger finally was able to remove the plug from the original flasher. 3. Installed the recommended CF-14 flasher and NO FLASHING! crapola. Used this info to buy the flasher. http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/show...8&postcount=25. Some critical photos are now missing in that post. 4. Further research noted success with the Tridon EP-34. Found this post http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/show...5&postcount=23 5. We will try the EP34 tomorrow after picking one up at Advance Auto (yes we could have made pin out swapping jumpers but 12$ seemed worth. it to get rid of a couple of more wires.) Attached are some pin out photos for anyone who may be interested. Note the location of the "B" and "E" pins. The CF-14 and EP-34 are opposite each other. The CF-13 one may also work if anyone wants to try it. |

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?
Saturday I cleaned the headlights with toothpaste, this left the lights looking cleaner but cloudy. Tuesday I buffed with rubbing compound, then pollished with turtle wax. (passerger side is original, driver side in newer.)
You might also notice the new larger stars (4 inches) on the hood. (I am not crazy about the JDM emblem.) When I received it from ebay I was dissaponted that it was not the larger blue stars (5+ inches) found on the new outbacks.
