Poll: 92 SVX Raffle

I'm thinking about raffling off my SVX as a unique way of selling it... Who would buy a ticket for 20 bucks? No limit on the number of tickets one person could buy. I would only sell 200 tickets total.

92 SVX - 4.44's, 150k, Teal, new tires (Goodyear eagle HRs), rebuilt transmission.

I htink he means, if you decide to raffle off at 20$ a ticket, and only 10 sell, would you proceed iwth the raffle with only 200$ coming in for the car?

I would, but it depends...

I've no idea if $4000 is a reasonable price for a '92 Teal with 150K. That's because I don't follow US prices.

Aside from mine and about two others, there is no SVX population in Ireland, so therefore no SVX market.

Across the water in the UK, there is maybe somewhere between 200 and 400 cars, so there is a market of sorts. Currently a '92 car might make £1000, which is probably in the region of $2000.

So dollar for dollar, your valuation seems high....

Joe

I wouldn't.

I suppose it all depends on whether you are a gambler or not.

To me, as a potential purchaser, buying a ticket for $20 when I am 99.5% sure that I'm not going to 'win', would seem to be a poor deal.

If I were the seller, it would seem to be a very good idea ....... provided that I could find enough buyers.

But then that's your gamble

For 20$, i'd buy a ticket or two. I'm not the gambling type, and tend to have poor luck in results as far as raffles go, however for the first time in my life i won a raffle at the 2007 Reading, so perhaps my luck is better there. Plus it would be rather sweet to get an svx for $20 or $40.

I don't usually gamble, but it seems to me that a 1 in 200 chance of winning makes far more sense than playing the lottery which is more like 1 in 200 million. So yeah I'd buy a ticket.

Not sure what I would do if I won a car that's 7000 miles away though.

How much are you asking for the car? I dont live too far away, a few hours. I would consider buying a ticket, depending on the condition of the car. -Dennis

Hmmmm...If you wanted to hold onto it for (see reading countdown clock for details) , I could see quite a few people being intrested. You could possibly even incorperate it into a pre-existing raffle
