Need Instrument cluster.
Has anyone got a dash gauge dipay for a Subaru SVX, chasing the whole unit, needs to be Australian because of the higher display number on the speedo. Its for a friend in Japan.

1995 - SVX 700,000 K Mine, DMS Struts to lift car 2in. Tyres Wrangler Silent Armor 235/70R16, PBR Radiator. 6 speed with DCCD and R180 rer diff, Heavy duty top strut mounts front and rear. Speedo correction box fitted. New stero (gave up on the old one). Back seat removed and 2 spare tyres fitted for desert driving. ECUTune SC sitting in the box for the next SVX. 1992 - SVX 255 K Wife (Want to stay Married so not allowed to fit SC) 1992 - SVX Pearl with black roof race car roll cauge etc ready to race. Ex Tasman Targa car. 1995 - SVX Green low k mint condiation. 1995 - SVX Rally car, ex Matts car. Now to be used on track. 1992 - SVX red & Black being converted to Mid Engine. 1995 - SVX Red 143,000 bit rough. Owned 5 others Subaru back to a 1974 1400 GSR. |

Try GMS Spares in Revesby - Sydney. They still have all sorts of bits after selling the half cut rear of the car. 02 9774 5184.

Is your friend planning to fit a 260km speedo into JDM which was 180km speedo ?
Or has he somehow got his hands on an Aussie SVX in Japan ? I'm curious because I have an Aust instrument cluster (260km) that I was thinking of fitting into my JDM car. Do any other parts have to be swapped out ? cheers, Shane Last edited by ShaneHobson; 04-28-2014 at 02:21 AM. |

i might have the speedo head ( the adm cluster doesnt plug and play in JDM cars) which can be swapped out ( i went the other way)
will have 300 + km on it if i do have it though. thanks, Ben. |

the pin out is different and none of the pins in the jdm dash harness are in the same spot as the aussie one. the only car that may be a straight swap is the great britain delivered new SVX's ( if there were any ? ) i have tried this and can garantee mine didnt work at all.
in the end i swapped the 180 km jdm speedo head into my adm cluster housing. thanks, Ben. |

Thanks for that Ben, the guy in Japan maybe able to hack 2 into one. Yes the UK got cars about 220 of them I think for UK and the whole of Europe. What I was told recently is that the secondhand prices on SVX in the UK is going up not down, I think the guy said they have doubled in recent years as now there are very few. My personal opinion I think the prices in Australia have flattened out and will climb from now. Not that many left. "E" and I could flood the market.

I should have a spare cluster.
I'm 99% sure the one in my spare car will be surplus to my requirements. But give me a week or 2 to check my good one and be sure that it's all working. If it is, then I won't need whatever is in my spare parts car. |

While on the subject of instrument clusters maybe you guys can give me some tips as to what is the most likely problem with my Tacho - it barely registers and only goes to about 1K rpm.......
