|
There is a wire that tells the alarm system that the engine is running. It is used to make sure that the alarm doesn't go off while driving and that the "security" indicator doesn't flash while driving.

ok, but i've also noticed it never seems active when the car is shut off and the doors are locked either. To be honest i don't know my way around the security system much, all i know is it leads to headaches for alot of owners, the guy i bought mine from provided me a photocopy of the manual but it didn't include any pages about the security system, that's why i wondered

security lite blinks
security lite blinks if I disconnect the battery to do mantiance on the car and reconnect the battery. If I let it keep blinking it will sound off down the road with flashing lites and horn. I have to stop the car and turn off the switch then push the button to make the red lite stop flashing or it will do it again. The first time it happened was on the freeway and I couldn't find the car that was honking at me. It was me honking at myself. lol. Thes SVX's definately have a personality!

haha wow i'm just glad no such thing has happened to me yet
 yeah the light there is never on at all, i can click it all i want and nothing happens whether the car is off or on, nothing. i get the feeling it just doesn't work anymore? which is totally fine with me, lol the guy who originally bought it lived in texas, not that that information has anything to do with anything, i just know it's not a canadian svx haha
