Another hood question, opening and closing

I have another hood question!

WHen you open up the hood, do the endpoints of the hood go before or after the think rubber/plastic weather stripping?

I cant seem to remember, and since my fender/bender, whenever I open or close the hood, the tips of it catch and threaten to tear the rubber at the very edges of the weather stripping.

I have pictures to illustrate what Im talking about!
Pls help

When I try to open as far as I can the edges snare and tear the black rubber when I try to close it again.

What does this mean?

I looked at your pics, and was wondering if the onject you hit was moving from your right to left when you hit it. my 92's hood fit almost exactly like that when I got it, I took it to a local frame shop, they said the frame was fine but that the accident had shifted the core support (the radiator support) to the left, causing the front of both fenders to be shifted over with it, they put it on a frame rack and pulled it back over for $100, now it looks pretty good its not perfect, but think mine was hit a little harder than yours as it blew the airbag in mine, (remember it was hit when I got it so I don't know just how hard she hit ) I still haven't gotten the scrapes on the front bumper fixed and repainted,...one of these day
But take it to a frame shop (preferably one where you know someone, so they don't bend you over )and they should be able to fix it back relitively cheap.
