Re: Alternator question

The alternator is still mounted below the crank pulley. It's too hot in Texas to go without air conditioning. I don't really like how it's mounted though so when I finally get it running right, I am going to look into what it would take to get a better mount created for it.

Re: Alternator question

I see I see, I've never seen it setup like that, I assumed the a/c was deleted and the alternator flipped over to where the a/c would be.

Re: Alternator question

Yeah, i like that he was able to keep the AC intact because you're right, most people take it out but it's just not feasible here. What I don't like about the alternator is that while it is very secure with the bracket, the adjustment side could be done a little better.

See, one side has the long bolt that holds it on and it is very strong so i'm not worried about it falling off but on the other side (the left side of the pic above) can you see a single bolt hanging down? That is the adjuster. There is square block on the back that has a hole in it that you put a bolt through and screw into the alternator. The lower you screw that block down the more tension it puts on the alternator and its not exactly the best.

I'll look into seeing if that can be re-fabricated to be more user friendly.
