If any of you folks need your transmission replaced, (or probably any major service), and if you live near the US/Canada border, you might want to come to Canada for the service. Other posts I've seen suggest a Subaru rebuilt costs approx. US$4000 installed - the same price as here in Canada only we pay it in Canadian dollars. If this is indeed the case, and given your US dollar will buy just over $1.50 Canadian, that transmission job is now under US$2700. Just a thought .....!

The reason it is 2700 in Canada is because MOST U.S. Suby dealers are too busy trying to keep the $1200 core charge. And even if you mention the core charge they laugh at ya. Right Randy???
Although, there are a few dealers that won't try and keep the core charge if you mention it too them. |
