to use or not to use (diesel oil )
lol ive been looking into using diesel oil in petrol engines and it says that if the car is in good cond and good service history or has low kms it can benefit the engine by being as good and better rated than the same viscosity petrol oil and also has a detergent effect and cleans up the engine as well . im thinking of getting some put in when i get her serviced in a few weeks but thought id get some input on whether i should or not ?
im going to try it in my 83 corolla see how it goes and if its good il use it in the subie too |

Re: to use or not to use (diesel oil )
do it!
I used Mystic jt-8 15w50 , a citgo product, in '85 ea82, and when the engine was disassembled, everything looked nice and clean as if it was polished the svx will get the same when oil change is due, and a good filter

Re: to use or not to use (diesel oil )
I run rotella 15-40 in my saab. Lots of guys run it in their Viggens as they're very sludge prone.

Re: to use or not to use (diesel oil )
Diesel oil is almost necessary for flat tappet engines, they took the zinc out of most oil because it is bad for catalytic converters, though they are starting to take it out of diesel oil too.
