I had a Fastrac transponder (used in CA) which I could never get working. Similar to EZ Pass I guess.

Angry RADAR BLOCK

NOW! you tell me! I couldn't figure out why my (expensive, "top-of-the-line", highest rated, $400) Valentine One radar detector didn't detect Ka band over 1/2 mile away when it TESTED (independently) at over 1 1/2 miles!!!

Maybe I can take the guts out, locate the front and rear sensors, mount them fore and aft, and run wires to the "remote" (or hidden) main chassis!? . . . . . . justkiding. Or, drill a hole in the roof and mount it up top for proper operation (bubble gum around the power cord running thru the hole in the roof).

[they make 'em like that (separate mountable remote sensors). i saw 'em on the internet. they cost $1200. & up!]

THANKS for the heads up!

Like RSVX, I also have had an exterior front license plate EZ-Pass transponder for about 3 years. The only problem is that it slightly hides the top of the oval design of the logo on the 10th Anniversary SVX Meet license plate. SVXers on Long Island will not have that problem because NY State requires front plus back license plates. To make sure that your plate mounted transponder stays on your car (midnight transponder) use locktite between the front of the plate and back of the transponder or a torx head screw.

Steve,

The only platinum in the SVX is the coating on the beads (BB's) in the Catalytic Converter. What a waste of platinum. The Naviguesser wants me to take out the beads, desulphurize them, melt the beads, & extract the platinum. Then she wants to have jewelry made from it.

The coating in the winshield is tianium oxide.

Uh. Did I say platinum? Heheh. Of course I meant tianium - whatever that is. (What did you say you did for a living, Larry? )

Steve,

I am an engineer....WOOOO WOOOO.

The Naviguesser is a retired high school English teacher.

I have to stay working to keep her in the manner to which she is accustomed.
It's a good thing that I took some seeds from Blondeman's money tree and planted them. The tree likes the soil in DE and is beginning to bear fruit.

Platinum BB's? Have you even seen a catalytic converter since 1984?

You need the EXTERIOR (Licence plate mounted) version of the EZ-Pass. The interior winshield-mounted version won't work because the winshield is polarized. Simply call EZ-Pass Customer Service and tell them you need the license plate mount version of the tag.
