Yes, I coined it, "National SVX Weekend", but I don't know if the Reading group will acknowlege that . I have old-Tom's number, I'll give him a ring.

Since the Nethercutt is vastly more highly endowed than the Petersen, there is no admission or parking fee there (Saturday.) However, at the Petersen, while we own the real estate (building, parking structure and land,) there is no endowment to keep it all running, that's done through donations and admission fees. Car clubs (we are considered one,) have the parking fee waived for club cars, and admission is at a reduced rate, $6.00 instead of the $10.00 normal general admission. And, to keep the cashier from having to wrestle with all the individual fees from the group, Museum policy is to appoint one person the head of the group, that person pays the fees for everyone, and is paid back by the group members. Unfortunately, that person is me, so I will meet everyone in the lobby at 9:30 and start collecting the money. When I tell the cashier you've paid, she will provide you with a wrist-band that will keep Security from chasing you around to make sure you're a legitimate visitor. OK, enough talk. Look at the instructions, and I hope to see you all in Sylmar on the 17th.

Re: So Cal meet is ON! FULL DETAILS:-

Hi guys and gals

Enclosed is a link to Paul's beautifully produced PDF detail sheet for the Two Museum Meet this coming weekend:

http://photos.svxwn.com/main.php?g2_...e291224d7c48c0

Because it is in PDF format I have been unable to get it to post as an image, but we'll work on that.

All interested parties please click on the link and download a copy for your own use.

Joe

PS I have also added the link to Post #1 and to Paul's announcement post

Re: So Cal meet is ON!

Anyone going on the 405 want to hook up and caravan to Slymar?

We can meet on the 405 and inglewood exit at the Von's parking lot at 7:30, and leaving at 8:00. or farther north, where the 405 meets the 10, if someone can name a location.

Let me know.

Re: So Cal meet is ON!

Hi all,
First of all, I thank you all for your kind words. I'm looking forward to seeing most of you one time or another over the weekend.
I just contacted Skip Marchetti at the Nethercutt, and we ran into a small snag there. First, Skip won't be able to meet with us, because he is still recovering from hip replacement surgery, and second, Jack Nethercutt has banned any tours of the shops until after Pebble Beach, because he likes to spring his new restorations onto the public without any advance publicity.
This is another reason for us to put the NEXT Two Museums Meet in the Fall, when the paranoia about PB is over. I still hope that you will come to Sylmar, because the rest of the collection is certainly worth the time.
P.

Re: So Cal meet is ON!

Hi all,
Just a quick reminder — Have you e-mailed me with the list of who is coming to the Petersen on Sunday? Since the Nethercutt is free both with parking and admission, there is no registration needed.
At the Petersen, however, there are complications with parking and the number of people on the special tour(s). Therefore, I need to have the names of all the people who will be there.
Thanks,
P.

That sucks. I was looking forward to meeting you and possibly trying out the TCU software. I'll make sure there's plenty of pictures to post afterward. I think once we get a little more momentum around here we'll have a few more mini-meets and drives than we've had over the last couple of years. We'll have to put something together again soon.

Now for an SVXCESS inspired "22 hours 'till Nethercutt" with a happy banana!

Re: So Cal meet is ON!

I just read in the paper that Van Nuys Airport will be hosting a B-17 until Sunday.

Cost is $5 per person to explore the plane on the ground and $399 if you want to take a 22 min flight.

Active military, veterans, and children under 8 w/a paying adult are free.

over a dozen SVXii in one spot, Nethercutt, hanging out w/other SVX enthusiast and a B-17!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is definately a first meet to remember.

Btw I have a surprise for each attendee.
