Couple of quick questions

Hi,

First of all, the buzz/rattle from the resonators in the exhaust system is driving me crazy. What would be the effect, in terms of performance, of my just replacing them with straight pipes?

Second, people are always complaining about the bulbs in the two switch panels below the instrument cluster. Has anyone researched replacing the bulbs with LEDs? Twelve volt LEDs are relatively common, and they come in a variety of colors. Replacing filament bulbs with them means they would theoretically last forever. Thoughts?

Paul

Most people here hate the sound of the car w/o resonators in place due to 2k to 3k resonance. I have no point of reference as mine were severed and hanging loosely when I bought the car. My exhaust is no longer stock except for the cast iron manifolds and is fairly loud, almost ricy (?). At the expense of waisting 50-60 bucks you should be able to have pipes welded in place to see what you think. Sound, as is most things, is just an opinion. If you don't like it then fix it correctly.
Other thought is that you may just have loose heat shields that are rattling. Removing them or tightening them is a cheap and easy fix.

Replacing the bulbs with ones from radio shack is a super easy fix. Just a couple of minutes per bulb really. I see no reason you couldn't switch to led's if you felt the need.
