Talking

Rosie & I want to thank all the organizers of Reading Viii. You guys outdid yourselves, it was a blast. It was great to see old friends again and meet new ones.

I want to thank Tom for letting me drive his supercharged hot-rodded SVX. The sh*teating grin is still on my face.

I also want to thank Young Tom for fixing the raffle so that I would wind up with the Subaru condom. I'd post photos, but everyone is is already hung over and this is a family friendly site.

Earl, it was really great to see you again. I hope you had a terrific time. Hope to see you in August. "Do fried fish go with Italian pastry?"

Did I mention that Rosie said that she did not bring enough shoes this year. I'm sure she'll rectify that at Reading iX.

Reading was a blast!! Being a first timer, it was great to finally put some faces to names. It was great to kick back for the day checking out some beautiful cars, some beautiful country side, and meeting some great people!

Props to everyone who organized the rally. I didn't realize how beautiful the Morgantown area is when you stray off the main roads. It was the perfect day for putting down the windows and sunroof and cruising through the country!

I'm already looking forward to next year! Next year, I'm blocking the weekend off months in advance so I can get a hotel room and participate in all the shenanigans!

Thanks for a memorable weekend everyone!
-Dan

THanks to the guys who made it possible. Primarily for me that means hotel costs, $70/night room is a great deal, i saw the tag on the back of my door, normally a $230/night room, i wouldn't have been able to afford it otherwise. Every night a got a show(old tom) to laugh at for a bit. He's hilarious, a guy who really seems to be enjoying life. Everyone there was hilarous, a world of a difference from the corporate grey that i'm used to, where there are no laughs, and the high point of my day is when i get in in the morning and read my daily dilbert calender comic. I need to get out more i think.

I'm already preparing for Reading 9, which will contain a tech session of Young Tom replacing my Pearly's entire driveline, including developing, installing, and tuning a symmetrical-twin-dual-sequential turbo system, using only the leftover parts from the other four projects over the weekend, Asti plasticorks, and that tiny, ancient rusted wrench from Reading 8. We haven't agreed on this yet, but I know he's eager to get back under that hood.

Saturday's festivities will include an "edknot" pinata full of dipstick o-rings and automatic shifters.

Thumbs up

Thanks to the organizers (you know who you are) for providing the Florida sunshine, & allowing me to park the Un-SVX among the elite.

Ron.

I have never seen a hotel actually charge the rate on the back of the door - I think that is really the maximum rate they can charge and generally comes into play when a hotel is booked solid and you refuse to check out when you are supposed to (ask me how I know this).

Great meet. Great seeing you all again. Maybe next time I will have the SVX (but the drop top was sooooo much more fun).

Gary

Reading was more than great this year (Especially now that I'm 21)
HUGE thanks to Young Tom form getting the ebony 4.11 on the road for the meet. Another thanks to Old Tom for keeping the asti flowing, even if you did use my decklid as the bar. thanks to dave and yt again for the rally course....What a gourgous drive that was! And yet another thanks to yt for organizing the raffle. That was a brilliant idea, and I hope the tradition continues

And also thanks to everyone for showing up, there were more svxi to look at than I cared to count.

See you all next year!

Speaking of count, JOHN, what was the official count? You are the Network Statistician, I believe.

I've already posted on how great Reading VIII was, but NOW I have some photos uploaded in my locker at http://www.subaru-svx.net/photos/user.php?newsvx|43313.

Some revealing photos, I say!! It id obvious from the pics that everyone was having fun - and the entire purpose of the event!!
And Earl - what a treat to have him come ALL THE WAY from way out west!! See the attached photo of Earl as an example of the ones in my locker .....

A weekend to remember!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
