OQO or Sony Vaio U-71

Which would you buy?

OQO:
http://www.oqo.com/hardware/specs/

Sony Vaio U-71
http://www.icube.us/Products/sonyux.htm

I like the size and the hidden keyboard feature of the OQO. I don't like the fact that it doesn't have flash memory slots or a microphone input (for VoIP).

I like the Sony for it's features, but it doesn't have bluetooth capabilities. It's slightly more bulky and I hope the writing recognition feature is good cause it's a pain to setup a keyboard separately. Built in RJ45 is nice. 800x600 screen > 800x480

Someone has successfully installed linux on the OQO, but obviously a few features aren't available until someone writes one. Don't know if Linux will easily work with the Sony.

Anyone seen these devices in real life and tinkered with them? I'm looking to buy one.

There's always the vulcan.
http://minipc.vulcan.com/datasheet.pdf

But I don't plan to use Windows so Paul Allen can shove it.

that little VAIO is sick! never saw something that small before.

the carbon fiber computy would be hard to damage.

not really alot of loot to spend

but i was looking for a PDA/PocketPC option. i found this handtops and thought that it would be a great replacement for a PocketPC which didn't have all the features that i wanted.

PDA/PocketPC's are great for sales people or mobile workforce, but for sysadmin needs it doesn't have the functions that i would need. we've integrated the blackberry and blackberry enterprise server into our business, but i don't like the blackberry all that much. sure it's great to get company email on, but the word, excel, and terminal services client sucks (read: screen too small).

i was hoping that i would have the ability to run linux on one of these little devices and have the power of a workstation so that i can manage our systems via VNC, terminal services client, AS400 clients, and/or dameware if for windows.

it would be nice to have the ability to jack into a network and run probing utilities to catalog devices, mobile email access, VPN capabilities for work and home, wireless internet access from starbucks, etc.

um, yeah.....that sounds great, pal.

i, myself, prefer to overload the X-Y converters before transposing the dual overhead VCR's with the phase-shift frequency correctors.

I have not seen OQO on person but I've tested out the sony unit at the local Fry's. It's not bad but a little on the large side. Might as well go with my laptop.
