Talking Justy wins class

No, really, I won my class. I got bumped with an E-Stock RX-7. The owner's a friend of mine, and he has aftermarket springs and a header, so he was only in E-Stock because the person doing tech didn't know any better.

Anyway, who cares. I won. In a Justy.

Actually, I beat many, many cars that were much faster than the Justy on straight time. Many a Camaro and Mustang were humiliated.

Congrats Nick! I've lost my shot at taking 1st in H stock in my local region unless the leader doesn't show up or races another car at least once out of the last 2 races. I hope you got a trophy.

That's awesome, Nick! I wish I had been there to see that happen.

One of the old timers in the club came up to me while I was working the course and said, 'you're scary.'

Actually, I've got another funny story from yesterday. I was watching the fun runs with a friend of mine, who was talking to another Mustang fanatic. The guy says, 'did you see that little red turd of a car?' Before my friend could tell this guy that it was mine, he says, 'whatever it was, that little thing was fast - he was only a second off the 'vette!'

So my friend tells him that the 'turd' is mine. The guy asks me, 'where do you find parts for that thing?'

I scoffed and said, 'parts? What the hell do I need parts for? It doesn't break!'

Take note of this Shadow248. A '93 Justy DL with 73hp, was just 1 sec behind a corvette in the AutoX!

Pockets mentioned that he also beat several mustangs and camaros. In tight AutoX circuits, power means very little, and a car's handling and transitioning abilities play a much bigger factor...

I wouldn't say that the Justy's handling is very good. It's actually a very difficult car to drive at its limit. But one of the most important things is braking, and the Justy does that very well. It also happens to have great steering and braking feedback.

Beyond that it pitches, rolls and bends like you can't imagine. And it's really hard to keep the back end under control while braking.

PS Thanks, Todd.
