Cooling fans on radiator
Both of my fans freaked out at the same time. I took both of them off and called the dealership to see what I needed. Now bear in mind that both of them are identical even the part #s on them. The dealership tells me that the ac fan is differnet than the radiator fan, but Im sitting here with the same friggin part on both sides. Does it make a diff, does one spin faster thatn the other??

they are different by 1 number!
Take another look. The part numbers for both fan and motor assemblies are only 1 digit different from each other, so if you look quickly you might not notice the difference
The assemblies do look similar, but they are different. I think one might draw more air than the other, but I really don't know. If I were you I'd be looking at fuses and wires. Losing both fans at the same time is a sure sign of an electrical problem (bad ground, bad power, bad fuse) and not the fans themselves. Dave |

they are exactly the same. The only difference is the fan blade is one has 5 and one has 6 blades, and opps I didnt look when I put it back on

So the difference is the number of blades. Funny. Does the 6 blade fan push more air? Dave |

It should come on whenever you use the A/C or defrost.
