Windows Stuck Down - Suggestions?
My svx generally sits in the garage with the windows down, because I try to only drive it when it's nice out. Today I took the SVX to pick up lunch at the local deli. I parked my car on the street, and went to put up the windows as to not have my 'stuff' stolen from inside the car. Upon trying to roll up the windows, nothing happened. None of the buttons will work, and, no, the window lock is not on. I have no idea how long it's been like this, because I dont remeber the last time ive actually tried to put the windows up.
Any suggestions? Mike |

Have you checked the PW fuse? How about the other buttons? Maybe your driver's switch cluster came loose..

Fuses are all good. I just noticed that my power seat isn't working either. Are these circuits connected anywhere?

I wonder if it could be a relay in the fuse panel under the hood. Not sure which relays do what, and I can't check since I'm SVXless now

I just ran down to the local u-pull-it yard and got a new relay and breaker from under the seat of a 92. $10. I'll install it tomorrow and post the results.

What a nightmare!
First, I couldnt get the seat out, because one of the bolts is stripped off in the floor. I then took the car to the local garage that did my 5 speed, and had them take a crack at it. They were able to get the relay/breaker out and replace it. It didnt fix the problem. I grabbed the diagrams from kerven. It looks like I have a ground short somewhere between the front fuse block and the seat relay. There is a 30A fuse blown under the hood that i didnt pick up on before. Looks like it's back to work tomorrow. Mike PS- The garage was able to raise my windows by powering the relay from another source. yay. |
