I remember a comment on the forum a little while ago stating that when the SVX was introduced, the reviewers lauded the brakes for their stopping ability. Those tests were presumably done with OEM pads, so . . . perhaps the OEM pads aren't so bad.

Or maybe they were really good back then but, like so many other things in life, have gradually declined in quality over the years.

My only regret is that I can't buy genuine Mopar brake pads for my SVX because, as we all know, Mopar rules!!!!

< hey! what happened to my dang windshield wipers??!!??! >

A reasonable sketch is here:

Front shims are parts 26233B (2 needed per wheel) and 26233C (1 needed per wheel). 26233B are black rubber coated. 26233C is shiny metal.

Rear shims are parts 26633 (2 needed per wheel) and 26633A (1 needed per wheel). 26633 are black rubber coated. 26633A is shiny metal.

BTW, if anyone wants to compare the characteristics of the various Axxis pads, have a look here:

What was it in the message archive that convinced you that OEM pads were the way to go? About 2 months ago, I replaced my OEM brake pads with Axxis Deluxe Plus organic pads (as well as having the rotors turned), and I was astounded at the improvement in braking performance.

I've done the same; mine are organic pads and seem to be much better than the OEM, especially if you like progressive feel to the pedal.

FWIW,
