PCV hose

Having trouble removing the PCV hose off of the valve. It's on there good and unable to turn the valve any more to loosen it. Screwdriver to try to pry off the hose not working. Any good techniques?

Re: PCV hose

Do it when the car is hot or heat the hose up a bit with a small torch

Re: PCV hose

I would say I'm bound to burn my arm on the intake manifold if I do that, but perhaps it needs to be a warm hose.

Re: PCV hose

You need to get the hose to twist on the valve to make it easier. I would use a pick or small screwdriver to pry back the hose, spray some WD-40 into that bad boy, and keep cranking, it should come eventually.

Re: PCV hose

I would if the hose didn't want to start spitting and breaking apart were I insert the tip of the screw driver

Re: PCV hose

Sounds like it's time for a new hose... it's not that hard to replace once the old ones off. Maybe it's a sign that you should replace all your vacuum lines and remove the intake manifold.
