Quick Report / Review of my Audi

I purchased my Audi S8 in the beginning of May. It has served as my daily driver, and I have put over 15,000 miles on it commuting back and forth to the New York City area from Erie PA.

The bottom line is this. This is an awesome car. It is the first car that I've ever owned that I don't feel compelled to do any modification. It looks great. It drives great. It sounds great. It has been extremely reliable for me. I just keep up on maintenance as it's called for in the schedule. This one is a keeper.

Re: Quick Report / Review of my Audi

very nice -i always liked those cars. my friend used to have an older Audi V8 that i considered buying, but i didn't want a car that big for my commute.

easy to clean silver, too - should be a great winter ride.

It's easy to not wash it since it never really looks THAT dirty. It's also nice not having to worry about rust with our winters up here.

Re: Quick Report / Review of my Audi

It is still a Volkswagen, even if it isn't made in Mexico. Is there an engine under that plastic crap or just a pile sauerkraut and weiners?

At least you get better mileage.

Re: Quick Report / Review of my Audi

I'd love a car like that. I was going to buy one of those older Audi v8's a few years back.

Great looking car Mike (as with most of the stuff you have there for sale)

The V8 Quattro is a really cool car! I flipped one about 4 years ago.

I'm averaging 20.2 MPG for the duration of my ownership. I drive it to NYC and back on monday and tuesday, and joe drives it around town all week. So, that's a pretty good mixed mileage rating. We're both pretty spirited drivers too.

Re: Quick Report / Review of my Audi

Very nice car, I've always been a fan of Audis.

Just out of curiosity how do you, specifically, pronounce Audi?
I have always said "Ow-dee", but as of lately I keep hearing it pronounced "Aw-dee"...Just to clarify, I called a dealership to see how they pronounced it; the automated operator greeted me with "Thank you for calling "Ow-dee"...", so I didn't feel so dumb.

I apologize for the off-topic comment, but it's just something that continues to bug me

Re: Quick Report / Review of my Audi

I'm pretty sure it's ow-dee. That's how I've always pronounced it, and that's how Audi pronounces it in their TV adverts. I figure they'd know better than anyone.

Is that legal to have those plates at the front bumper?

Where did you get it?

It is legal to have whatever you want on the front as front license plates are not required here. I got the plate on ebay from a seller in Germany. It even came with a plate frame from an audi dealer in Germany.
