August 6-7-8, 14-15

Hillclimb and auto-cross PARTY week!

I have an idea!! Why don't we meet at the farm and party hardy, Some of us will 'hill climb' and some of us can auto-X. This is known as 'Speed week' in local circles. I have some dirt that is hooked to 5,000 acres of dirt that belongs to the State, that is about 7 miles from the hill climb and 15 miles from the AX. We can cook 'ribs' on a 275 gallon grill over white oak fire, swap lies next to a campfire that NASA sees and play with guns till dark!

What else do you have planed for mid August??

PS, My birthday is the 13th (Friday)

If anyone would like to attend, The Hillclimb is the first 3 days, and the AX is the 14-15th

Post intentions. I will be kicking the snot out of an SVX on the 7th and 8th against a hill in Flintstone, I will be cooking ribs on the 14th. (celebrating Mom's 91st birthday and my 58th).

Depending on my vehicle situation, I'd like to come down. We might just say hell with waiting for my SVX to be out of the shop, and bring Phil's Del Sol (and auto-x it).

Mike, if you do, DO NOT REMOVE the top to autox it. I've see just how weak those Del Sols bodies are when pushed to the autox limits. One of them the top was nearly 1/2" too big afterwards.

Ben, that was really my only hesitation with the idea of bringing it, other than the lack of my SVX.

I'd bring the Volvo, but that would just give a depressing performance .

No worries, bring it, just don't take the top off when running. If the car bends with it in, no biggie, you just have a 2nd gen CRX. Seriously, I think you'll be fine, just wanted to make sure you knew about their history autoxing.

You can feel the chassis flex in that car going over bumps easily if you put your hand over the bridge between the windshield frame and the top. It's kinda sketchy.

Edit: and it's auto

Remember Mike I drive a TVR which has 18 bolts holding the body to the frame. My windshield will move a solid inch going over a bump. Granted the frame doesn't flex, just the body.

You can bring a VW Beetle, I don't care! I will spend the same amount of time burning up dead animals to eat.

It's not all about speed. I put a lot of effort on the 'Community'. We are 'Family'. It's about time we have a 'Reunion'.(and go fast too)

Re: August 6-7-8, 14-15

Barring a major mechanical meltdown, I should be there, as car parts are coming out of the body shop this weekend!

Cue meltdown. My plans for the weekend are looking closer to cancelled. There are too many things going on right now which are out of my control.
