Re: Emergency!!! Anyone Near Bowling Green, Ky?

Was glad I could help, got home about midnight...(getting up this morning sucked)

Nick seemed like a great guy, and things actually went pretty good....I was afraid it was going to be big problems...
The crappy "Advanced Auto" made Nick buy tools (I even bought the hacksaw), as they wouldn't let us use theirs......but they did let us use their vice and hammer.

For the record the temporary ALT/PS idler pulley repait was done using a Dayco 89038 pulley,
and a Dayco 5040345.

You're the MAN!!

National Street Rod Association puts out a book called the 'Fellow Pages', It has the contact info for any member that is willing to help when someone is close to them and breaks down. Could we do something like that??

Hooray for Huck (little slow as I have been living under a rock sick). I was ready to make the trip and glad to see so many people ready to jump and assist.

One of the motorcycle boards do something like this:
They post the first post with all the states, then you can post if you are willing to help, and a range, and what you have to offer (tools, trailer, place to sleep, ext.) And your location, and a phone number (usually written somewhat cryptic to ward of spammers)...Then the original poster (or Mods) can update the first post by adding the names to each state.

I definitely think this would be a good ideal for here.

Re: Emergency!!! Anyone Near Bowling Green, Ky?

I think an emergent contact list would be a great idea.

Here is a link to the "fellow pages"

http://nsra-usa.com/index.php/site/section/C4

It is printed new every year and no names or phone numbers are carried over from the previous year. You register every January to be included.

That way the list is a current as possible with those who are willing and able to help.

Cool idea.

Re: Fellow Pages

I think that's a terrific idea! Online would be more current than a printed copy as long as the contact information is kept safe somehow. Any ideas on how that can be done? I'm willing to help if someone wants to get the ball rolling.
