Any other hunters/fishermen[women] on here?
It's that time of year again, time to go out in the woods or out in the boat and get some meat for the freezer for the winter! I haven't filled my deer tag yet, but last weekend my buddy and I got a pretty good size 3 pointer. There were two, but I was off in another section of the woods watching another clear cut.
 This buck was at least 200lbs, and that was after cleaning it, which is pretty good for a 3 pointer. We carried him out of the woods on a pole "native style" on our shoulders about 2 miles back to the truck. I was bummed I wasn't in the same section of the woods at first, but after carrying the deer back to the truck, I was definitely glad we didn't have to go back again for another one! (And hope the cougars/coyotes didn't get to it first!) Gonna go back this weekend and hopefully get 2 more, his son has a tag to fill too... Anyone else get anything this year? The salmon are running here currently as well, so after deer season is over I'm pretty sure we're gonna go try for some fall Chinook.

I shot a 4 point down here two weeks ago with my 30-30. Nothing huge, 120 lbs. A puppy compared to your Oregon deer but not bad for this area.
Heading to NY for thanksgiving week to hopefully shoot a nice tasty apple/pear/corn/grape fed deer. They do taste better when they live in an area near farms with lots of good food. The bark eaters always taste gamey to me.
