Starting to get pissed. . .
Ok, I am having the same problem with the car stalling every once in a while. Take for instance. This am I started it up to let it warm cause I was taking my cat to the vet and didn't want it to be cold. I let it run for about 25 min and it was fine. I drove maybe 5 miles to vets office and let it run while I was in there. Was inside MAYBE 5 min. I come out,it had shut off. I went to pull out of the vets and it stalled. Coming home it hesitated a few times then was fine. At the stop lights it idled great. I just put in a new MAF. Any suggestions?

sorry wrong wording..the intake tube..have you had any other recent service done?
it could be a few things such as fuel pressure, idle air control, also double check the hose clamp on the tube going to the maf sensor.

Had a similar problem
CrazyHorse helped me with this
As for your problem. It sounds like the Idle speed control is dirty. It's really a simple matter to fix, especially when caught early. Get a can of GOOD carburetor, or brake parts cleaner. Pull the intake hoses off the throttle body. Hold the throttle open by hand. Spray cleaner liberally into the throttle openings. Allow time for the solvent to evaporate, reinstall the intake hoses, start car for that nice smooth idle. |

I have not had any other service done on her. Where is the idle air control. Iknow on Fords it is right in front of the thottle body. All other connections are tight.

Dunno if this will help, but worth a try ....
Here are some symptoms mine had: Drive to work in the morning - no problems Go to lunch about 2-3hrs later - stalled like crazy Drive to work in the evening (about 6hrs later) - no problems I changed the MAF first, but things got worse, so second MAF and new temp sensor fixed the issue. http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/show...t=40433&page=2 Scroll down to post #26 to see pics of where the temp sensor is located. |
