Solid engine mounts?
Hey there, well,, my engine mounts are close to be done.. so I was thinking about using solid mounts or just the original rubber mounts.
I wonder if someone had ever done it and if he noticed a better response. My car's got a manual tranny and I noticed the mounts suffer a looot more stress than with the auto tranny. I'm also thinking how unconfortable will it be but how solid the drivetrain should feel... any opinions?? thanks Last edited by Guyver280z; 09-13-2007 at 10:11 AM. |

Group N engine and tranny mounts. They're not solid, but they're rather stiff. Keep in mind, the stiffer the mounts, the more vibration your going to feel throughout the car.
You have to modify group N mounts. I don't know who all does them, but i know Young Tom does, so unless some other folks crawl out of the woodworks, i'd shoot him a PM.

Do not, I repeat, do not go with solid mounts I ran them in a '68 Camaro during my "youth" and they are not the ticket for street use. The Gruppe N mounts will do a nice job for you.
