Now I've been a geek for years now, and Honestly, I am not too impressed with
Vista at all. I ran the old Vista Build 5365, Where it was stable, the extra Visual Effects even showed a slight CPU bogging with my XFX nVidia 6800 and 2 gigs of DDR400, Dual Channel Ram. Where it comes to OS-X, I think its a good operating system, cause lets face it, underneath it is a nice BSD type Kernel running the entire thing, which has been stable for years (Major FreeBSD Lover ) Personaly, I think Microsoft should let up alittle on the Visual Side of the OS, and concentrate on getting Bugs/Exploits taken care of, and have a better system of dealing with such Problems... There is what, now 3 Exploits for Windows that Microsoft still hasn't released Patches for and they have been out for how long? Thats where the OS-X/Linux/*BSD Have the best. They release Patches/Fixes, etc in record time, and if they cant totaly fix it quickly, they release temp patches/How-To's to protect yourself... Can you say the same about Microsoft? I think not. That is where I have to agree, and a User Friendly, and safe OS, OS-X would "win" this "Battle", They, Like Linux/*BSD, Really care about Safety, and Security with there Software. Now, If Microsoft decides to grow a brain in this age of script kiddies and spam masters, and decides to finaly follow suit in quick responces to exploits/bugs/etc, then Microsoft mite even rank higher then the rest... But Untill that time, you know where I stand

The bottom line is Apple has the better OS and PC's have the better hardware. Where Apple was years ahead on OS tech, "PC's" simply because of their nature of not actually being brand controlled, are light years ahead on the hardware side.
My hope is that the recent switch by apple to Intel hardware signals the eventual migration of OS to PC hardware compatibility. As soon as I can run OS on my PC and do everything I do now just the same, i'm switching. Hopefully Vista will be good enough to tide me over 'till that day. |
