Steering Rack Questions

Hey everyone ive recently got my car back on the road, but i am getting a steering light. I have a 92 lsl with the electronic assisted steering. I installed the new rack and filled up the powersteering pump and cycled the wheel from full lock to full lock with it off and then with the car running. However there is no change whatsoever and the steering is extremely hard to turn at any speed. The plug is hooked up for the rack and it has fluid. If anyone might be able to help me out here that would be greatly apreciated. Are you supposed to prefill the rack??Am I purging the air out of the system wrong???Thanks in advacne for any and all help.

My question is just that. Should the power steering unit have a power wire that would light up a circuit tester with the key in the on position??? Are there diagnostic for the steering? ANy and all suggestions are as always greatly appreciated

alright well i found the diagnostic check for the steering codes not on that website however due it only showing me pictures of svx's. Either way, i pulled a code 2 but am curiuos as to which plug you all have the rack plugged into???I have two possible plugs both with a different color connection then the rack. ONe is under the master cylinder and the other comes out of the firewall. If anyone with a electronic rack can just look real quick and tell me which one your rack plugs into that would be awesome. ANy and all help is greatly appreciated.
