i remember hearing that. guess i should have figured there was more than one. they're a little after my time though. i can't even remeber the names of the four pac-man ghosts.

before high school, i used to spend all my time in my room playing records and listening to the radio. i got my first sony-brand walkman that was only an am/fm radio in september 1983 and i used to listen to it whenever i wasn't home. i used to listen to american top 40 w/ casey kasem every weekend and write down the songs rankings. then i'd project out chart activity for the songs so my favourites would be in the top 10.

then for christmas 1983, i got a portable cassette player so i'd alternate between that and the walkman. i still have both of them and last time i checked, they both still worked. eventually i had a series of walkman-type music players with both radio and cassette capability. i never had a discman though; i went straight to an iPod.
