RIP Type-R Integra.... :'(

So a not-so-wonderful thing happened last night to my girlfriends Integra and herself. It was a great car, 1999 Integra GS-R with a Type-R block and tranny transfer... so much done to it.. custom paint, rims, racing seats..

She was driving from Luck Wi. at a junk yard back into MN when her tire popped doing about 80mph.. she lost control and rammed it on the driver side right into a tree. still doing about 70.

She's alive, thank God.. she suffered a broken collar bone, broken pinky(actually had to be sewd back on.) her left hip is in extremely bad shape.. but she's doing good and is responsive.
Here are some pics of the Integra..

The pic of my buddy Chris holding up the glass was from this morning when we were out looking for parts. The seats/cop radar/shift knobs and a few other things were salvageable but barely.

Well when I got there it was barely holding on and it didn't take much to rip it completely in half to get it on the truck, so pretty damn close.

Re: RIP Type-R Integra.... :'(

That is crazy! True type-R's aren't that common either, I've seen way too many with "Type R" on the fenders and hatch, only to see that it's four lug at a stop light (True Type Rs are 5 lug)
Glad she's okay though, lots easier to replace a car than a human being!

It is actually pretty typical for honda products to do this
...however, given the geography I'd say it it finished ripping aprt on the way to the truck.

If that is the case she is probably okay aside from some physical therapy that will be needed. I doubt she'll drive that fast anymore.

I really hope she continues to do well man. I know a few people with hip issues, kindda sucks. If it wasn't for a hip replacement I would have actually lost my father to cancer, among other things though... so some good can always come from things like this, just gotta take a step back later and look at the big picture. Good luck!

Type r integras own! I used to have a GSR and loved it. Sorry to hear about your loss and I hope your girl will be OK. I used to drive fast all the time but now I'm 30 and don't do that anymore.

Yeah he knows that, pretty sure. It's hard to miss what I said. It's about as close to a Type-R as you can get without spending 22 grand.
