Anyone want a brand-new, slightly beat up SVX?
First I would like to note that this is not my auction...
So, who wants a brand new SVX with only 148 miles on it? It just has a SLIGHT bit of body damage http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=31871 It could be good for an engine or tranny, but I really doubt its $2250 worth of good. But hey, the auction says it runs and drives... On a side note.....I'm not getting a Trans Am anymore. The SVX fire has been rekindled once I came to my senses. That and a nice 5 hour trip to Buffalo in my Avenger convinced me I need something a little more refined to take me back and forth when I attend college this fall. Being the GT style car the SVX is, I think it just may fit the bill. That and I need something AWD to get me through the snow.

That reminds me of the KIA Sportage my wife rolled three times. Insurance company asked if anything was salvagable. I told them that the passenger side tail light was still intact. They told me to list the rest and I told them that was the only thing not dented, ripped, broke, torn, etc...

The most important thing is that SVX kept its occupants in good health.
Cars can be replaced, people can't.

I can fix that... Not that I feel it should be fixed. However in another 20 years, that might be a candidate for repair...
I've fixed worse. A '84 20th anniversary edition Mustang GT350 with about 6K miles that was both barrel rolled and end over end rolled. It was about a three year project. Doug

I bought this car for $1600, and it does indeed have 148 orig miles on it, the car runs and shifts smoothly thru all gears.
My 92 has 83K miles on it, and the tranny went last year, so I bought this wreck just for the tranny, but the engine is in such nice shape that I am thinking I will swap it out too, so I will end up with a 92' with 148 miles on the engine and tranny. The body is a disaster, though there is a new passenger door and fender, the interior is gone (though there are two original non droopy visors in the car, and no I am not selling them) Will start parting out the car once the swap is completed, which will probably take a month or two, will post the parts on this site once I figure out what I am keeping, and what I am selling. Will also post some pictures as this project gets underway. |

You have a point, but the problem is:
1) the car was never repaired, and that is what carfax is gauranteeing 2)the car has never been written off. I suspect a dealer employee totalled the car, with dealer plates. These things happen and the dealer can only fire the guy who drove it, and write it off themself.
