Best route to Reading from Maryland?
Looks like I'm going to head out very early Saturday morning so I don't have to deal with our wonderful Beltway traffic Friday night -- anyone care to offer what they feel is the best route to Reading. Lets say I start at 495...
Thanks. -Bill

If you're into 2 lane blacktop, scenic, like I am; take Rt 10 which is off Rt 1 in PA. Get to that point any way you wish. I see by my Rand McNally, Rt 10 hits Rt 322 which aims for Ephrata, which is 1/8 of an inch from Denver. You could also do I-83 North to York, then Rt 30 east, but why do PA without buggies?

Ron,
I think that you should organize a MD. SVX & Blue Crab Meet at the shore during soft shell season. We could have an all you can eat contest. Winner gets a decal of a crab characature with funny windows.

I personally would take 495 to 83N to 30E to 222N, then get off at the "Denver/Turnpike" Exit. Go left at the bottom of the ramp. Go through two lights, and the hotel is on your right.

According to Mr. Yahoo! Maps, Denver is 109.4 miles & 2 hrs, 14 minutes from my doorstep. That's taking the "express" route through Lancaster that Mike recommends. On the return trip, who cares how long it takes? In fact, I think I'll take Monday off & just cruise the hills. Ron.
