drive shaft balancing?
Has anyone ever had the SVX drive shaft assembly balanced? I'm looking at the whole mess and wondering if its even possible. Perhaps it would have to be disassembled into its two main components and each of the two components balanced?

Do you think it needs to be balanced?
Are you getting vibrations? If so it's more likely the U-joints. If not then just ignore this post.

Any shop equiped for the task can balance a driveshaft with a carrier. In fact it needs to be together to be balanced properly.

I've had one balanced before. It had the carrier on it. It cost about $75.00 I had it done at A1 Driveshaft in Milwauukee. They are a heavy truck shop. I tend to look for truck and machinery shops for drivetrain and suspension stuff because they seem to have the guys that have been doing this stuff for 20 years and know what forces can do to a part.

$75 just to balance it. I got mine lengthned and balanced for $100. Guess I got a good deal.

Yeah I sent him a pm too.
Shot in the dark I know. The first place I contacted wanted to sell me a brand new one instead. Central village is right down the road from me so wherever he went should be close by.
