Rust proofing

Have you guys noticed, that there are guidelines for rust proofing in the FSM? Very detailed, every cross section, coating thickenesses and all.

Part 5-1, section 7.

Yes, this is common in Japanese vehicles of this vintage, maybe others too. Toyota has a similar procedure outlined in their body repair manuals for each model. (the body was in a section separate from the main manual)

I have never heard of anyone making use of the information or procedures. There is also a specific procedure for repairing and painting the deckled on the SVX. No one follows that either and it's why repainted deck lids chip so easily
