Carlsson C25

http://www.carlsson.de/carlsson/de/n...5_Premiere.php

Carlsson does a lot of customization packages for Mercedes cars as well as a few other cars.

Looks way too much like a Mercedes, but is sexy.

It will be awesome if sales tank, the car carries limited value in the used market, and I can snag one in 16 years for $5k.

Fan of the B11S, fwiw.

with Volvo up for sale, if FHI took it on we'd have a SVX on the drawing board you think?

Opel Ampera.

This taillights are perfect for a new SVX.

The front is also very sexy:

Everybody's going Panamera I really dunno why

What do they see in a long saloon with a hatchback design?

They want to get people interested in sedans again... and think that visual drama will do it.

So they cut roof height, and make the cars sleeker. Fine by me, although Panamera is one of the ugliest example. Bugatti Galibier and Aston Rapide are both better. Porsche's own 2011 Cayenne update looks better as a SUV, than Panamera looks as a sedan.

But I REALLY like the 5-door benefit for the same fact as to why I wish both my Legacy and SVX had hatchbacks.

There is plenty of trunk floor space. Even decent height of the trunk space.

But the trunk openings are too narrow to use that space well. A box that can fit in that space might not be able to fit through the trunk opening... especially if you occaisionally use the extra space of folding the rear seats down.

I had a Fox mustang and a 93 Probe GT... both were quite practical in that respect... and that is the big characteristic that I miss from those cars. the subarus beat them in just about every other category.

BTW... about the comment above... the Carlsson looks like a Mercedes, because Carlsson modifies mercedes. That is a big modification, but it is still based on M-B underneath.

I so wish someone would build a true successor to the SVX... something built for the right reasons, something built well for it's intended use, and built by people who want to build a car for the art and science of building cars... not just to have some sort of car to put something on a dealership lot to fish for sales stats and revenue.

Subaru is going gangbusters while GM, Chrysler, and now Toyota are failing and flailing. What is all this new-found success going to generate, in terms of moving forward with the product line?

The SC90 Volvo concept above is not bad... but it should just be a 2-door with a hatchback... The rear doors only serve to make all the side doors very short in length.
The Opel Ampera looks good... as much as a re-badged Volt/Cruze can. The tail lights are sharp.
I also like the Saab 9^5 light pipe tail lights, as well... and see a bit of the cockpit dash traits that SVX also has...

The designs, the tech, ...heck, even the Subaru shared platforms exist, if someone, preferably Subaru, would just BUILD IT.

2012 Model year is not that far away. 20th Anniversary. But the concept car should be showing up about now... but we haven't even seen the rumored FT-86 Subaru variant yet, and that has been rumored for more than two years now.

And please, PLEASE, leave the B11S in the past. That thing makes the Panamera look good. A GT Coupe sleek 3-door variant of the new Hybrid Tourer concept, minus the hybrid bit... that might be more apt...
