Dreaded Open Door beep

Ever since I did my 5spd conversion the way I bypassed the nss so the key would turn while it wasn't in "park" causes the car to do the beep as if the key is in it constantly anytime the door is open. How do I kill this beep! I don't want it EVER! Thanks in advance.

Re: Dreaded Open Door beep

I did this a long time ago. First take out your starter, then you'll see 2 wires near the ignition light if I remember, and simply cut them.

I did that, now the car won't start!

I don't think I would take the starter out.

Re: Dreaded Open Door beep

There is a smaller plug with 2 wires going to the ignition switch, unplug it and it will always think the key is out.

Re: Dreaded Open Door beep

+1 pictures??? Or at lease wire colors and more descriptive location of these said wires.I'd love to kill it! Kill it now!! damn battery drainer when I work on my car with the door open and battery connected! and it's annoying if I wanna open my doors while my music is on.

Re: Dreaded Open Door beep

If I remember it's a plug on the ignition switch itself. Take your ignition switch out, post a pic of the wires on it and i'll tell you which ones to cut.

Ok so it sounds like you and hondasucks did theoretically the same thing... now if we could get a better description of what color wires these are, or what plug it is. I have been looking at the diagrams for the ignition switch and all I find is stuff for the nss and for cruise control. where is this illustrious plug??
