Question ported and polished intake and plenum?

13.9 w/ a supercharger? i was hoping for that unpressurized.

The car shot out of the hole like no other but it died up top. At first I was thinking it was pulling timing but on the way home it hit me. I am still running the stock intake with the stock air box... to boot, I am running a at least year old dirty ass Fram filter I meant to pull it and do a run when I was prepping the car last night but I totally forgot... So as it stands, the car still runs 13.9 but has a lot more to go

He was having major probs with the intake air filter. You will not get a 13.9N/A out of a svx unless you strip it and do some motor work. I think the racer ran a 14.2 and that is about as light as you will get in an svx. When I go tomorrow night I want to see a very low 13 sec to high 12 sec run.

well tom, if your car is weighing 3,580+170 lbs for you and your ET is 13.9 i calculate your horsepower to be 276bhp. if anyone needs the formula for themselves: bhp=wt/(ET/5.825)cubed.

.....Wouldnt the gear ratios and (Suprised you didnt figure this one) the rolling circumfrence of the tires have an effect on your et regardless of hp? Or is the 5.285 the result of an equasion already factoring them things in? Im just curious, as euasions of that sort are really the only algebra I find intresting

The equation is just power and weight.
It doesnt take into consideration power curve, gearing, traction, wind, ect.
Some cars just wont run the calculated numbers... other cars run quick enough that you want to throw the calculator out the window.
All it is, is a decent way to ballpark potential.
MPH is a better way to calculate the HP

Great looking pictures! Tom that silver beast of yours... I'm jelous. I really can't wait for stage2 and trying to figure out how to cram some sort of FI into my car. Ever since you took me for that ride at reading, I've been hooked.

The bog was very noticeable in the second run. It looked as if you either let off the gas completely or you missed a shift

Are you going to baby the launch or powerblock it up to stall speed?

Tom,
You did run more than once right? Could you post up both times? Just wondering how close my Nostradamus predictions were. Good luck getting the gremlins all straightened out.

I think you could get a few runs in today at Englishtown Raceway.

I am going to try 2 runs powerblocking to 2000ish with the stock intake and then 2 runs with the same launch but I am going to remove the airbox.
