problems with the a/c, well i dont know if this is related but everytime u turn the key u can look under the dash and see white pieces moving for the a/c, also everytime u give it gas the white pieces will move, making some kind of adjustment, everytime im in reverse going down a hill it hear a loud clunk and by brakes seem to give out for 1 second and my idle gets all weird and those white parts move again

ok went and looked at my svx, heres what ive come up with without starting it up, white parts would be the vent flaps for my a/c , they keep twitching, when i turn my key to ON u here the fuel pump and then u hear a loud screatch, kinda like a cars tires locking up when braking and skidding, then if u give the pedal some gas u can hear what sounds like a bumble bee under or near the tranny....

This would indicate a partial short circuit. As no fuses are blowing, the alternator is suspect. It is fused at a high rating and in simple terms. very quick high reverse voltage spikes could be involved. No one has previously reported reverse voltage of this magnitude, but it is certainly possible and could be causing all sorts of problems within the engine management system.

Refer my next post.

On the basis of all you have reported and provided all has been correctly interpreted, you should replace the alternator. But sadly I must add the proviso, only if the value of the car warrants this also taking into account other foreseen expenditure. It could be time to cut your losses.

crusin i am having the same problem. I was thinking something along the lines of a bad coil or plug. It just started doing this this am. Start cheap. I know what you mean about the lights coming on. When a car stalls, all the dummy lights come on. so rule out an electrical problem on that end. Let me guess, when going down the highway, car runs good.. you get off the exit orcome to a stop, the rpms drop real low and surge a bit.right? if so, we have the same issue. Mine did shut off once too. Start by checking your fuel filter, the check the plugs. Work that way.
