There were those who ridiculed me for supporting you in an earlier post. You now owe me another one.

Would a malfunctioning/poorly tuned MAF cause cold hesitation? That is to say - when I start driving the car from cold, if I am accelerating, while keeping the pressure on the gas pedal constant, the car will hesitate randomly (nothing too severe, but something to notice). When I'm going at a constant speed, the car does not hesitate. Of course, when the car gets warm, it doesn't do it.

It's possible. Malfunctioning TPS's cause all sorts of odd problems.

I have the same problem, but only when it's cold. I haven't figured out what it is or how to fix it yet, but I've been primarily concentrating on other things right now. Let me know if you figure something out.

The genie you speak of is Trevor, and he is a genius as well. And a very helpful one at that.

Mind you, there are times he comes across like someone who recently came out of a bottle, so maybe your preferred title is good.

Trevor the SVX genie.

Me 3, when the car isn't warmed up constant throttle causes it to hesitate until it's warmed or going faster

Exclamation

omg i am so mad, i went to start it today and it went back to the same old hesitation!! i know my tps is adjusted correctly, i get no CEL, and if i drive it more than an hour hesitation is completly gone, could this be a fuel issue like a fuel filter or fuel pump?? it always seems the hesitation comes back if i let the car sit for over night....

Sounds like it is to me because that is what mine looks like. I bought from Tacoma Subaru not too long ago. All the aftermarket ones I've seen are either black or kind of a bronze color.

Just change the fuel filter, OEM or aftermarket. They are only a few bucks.

My brother recently had to rob the fuel pump out of my SVX for his Forester. It started giving hesitation problems, would not start etc. The fuel pump just wore out. That's another possibility.

Change the filter first, see if that helps.

Joe
