I take it the filter is in the fender? That's a good setup as long as you don't drive through any deep puddles.

it is a very clean set up but I would definitely move te MAF away from the engine. Keep it away from as much heat as possible.

It's pretty, but needs insulation.

...The real question is...Where's the rest of it go? Did you hack some holes in the lower part of the fende rliner and stck the cone low, into fresh air? Or is it stuffed into the fender?
The placment of the maf is questionable, and Im sure the whole thing could use to be insulated, but as for smoothing out the airflow, it looks like you got it right

Reiterating, needs insulation, I would never put the maf there.

The valid questions are:-
How is this system an improvement on the original? If so, exactly what is defective in the original design.? Here say answers are not valid. Facts are the order of the day.

My Nephew did that on his Eclips. He got stuck in a flash flood in FLA and sucked water up into the engine and hydolocked the motor. He found out they make something that will prevent that , for him it was a day late and a $ short. It goes on the intake and is like the thing they put on a snorkel. Check it out.

breather valve, if the intake manages to suck up water (which would require a flash flood or worse) to completely submerge the filter, it will prevent the engine from inhaling said flood water and thus save the engine.
but if your really worried about hydrolock, there ARE better options...

These are my questions as well. What is wrong with the one that came on the car?

A lot of people feel that the stock intake is too restrictive. The snorkus can be a bit restrictive as well as the regular intake tubing being slightly restrictive/turbulence making.

Quote:
" A bit " " slightly " Intake from an area providing positive pressure and cool air. Very large filter area. Cross section overall more than adequate.

This is starting to sound like a Honda forum where people bicker about 3 horsepower.
