Okay, the scoop. I bought my SVX in January 2 years ago...She was a '92 LS-L with 160,000 KM on her. I was looking at Imprezas, but when I saw her, I immediately thought of my days playing Gran Turismo 1. She was fully loaded, so I took her. Following a stereo upgrade, new front and rear suspension, new front rotors, New summer and winter rubber, new rims, a new front drivers side window, a CAI, and the installation of a Whealan Strobe Kit, I now present the 50% complete Project "SVX Nova." If you're wondering about the name, look where I live. I've also discovered the SVX is damn photogenic. Which is okay
Tell me what you think, world. Coming up next, an ECU Stage 1, a new exhaust system (TBD), and a 5 speed. (ECU and Exhaust bring it up to 75%...the 5 speed is a few years off yet.) http://www.subaru-svx.net/photos/fil...zzed/20655.jpg http://www.subaru-svx.net/photos/fil...zzed/20656.jpg

Your list of mods sounds fine, but I'm not at all a fan of racing stipes like that. I think they look completely out of place on the SVX. I was gonna do that back when I bought my car at 17. Now that I'm 22, I'm glad I didn't. But, if you like them, keep them. That's something you can remove later if it doesn't suit your taste anymore. Actually, I had a window sticker like you too, but that's now gone I must be getting old *sigh* The wheels look good though. So, my opinion...good mechanical mods, nice wheels, but big stickers suck.

Not to be rude, but why do you need strobes? I could only see them making other drivers mad. I'm glad those things are illegal here and will get you a ticket.
Nice car, but I'd lose the racing stripes if I was you.

mixxed review
I like the window banner alot. and I've seen an SVX that looked good with stripes, but this doesn't quite fit...It was blue, with a wierd spoiler...I dont know what was different.
But I think the subaru banner is classy. and oh yea, nice wheels. definately nice wheels. |

I like racing stripes, but I still got a problem with these ones. If you're gonna talk the talk, you better be able to walk the walk. Frankly, the SVX just doesn't have what it takes to be sporting such flashy artwork. Until you can spank an STI, the four-letter "R-word" might come up.
...but if you're comfortable with that, I'm not going to ride you about it. Here's some tips for stripes: 1.) Stripes should be as wide a possible, but not more than just slightly wider than the tires. (This means wide tires.) 2.) The gap between the stripes should be fairly narrow and should match the tire gap. 3.) Have the stripes tinted into the rear window. 4.) Have the front window tinted just like the rear, but with the fading tint that only goes down 6-8" or whatever's legal. 5.) Stopping the stripes below the bumper and/or not continuing them onto the roof is sometimes a difficult decision. The general rule is that if it's hard to see, (or hard to clean,) don't stripe it. Since the wheel problem is about as good as it's gonna get, I'd say your stripes are about right. The wheels should be wider, but on an SVX, it's very difficult to achieve that. Getting the wheel gap right is next to impossible, so that's part of why the stripes don't do it for me. If this was reasonably possible, I'd say narrow the gap and widen the stripes, but again - it's pretty damn good the way it is. You stopped the ends of the stripes in a good spot. |

I'm all for the stripes. It's not like they made that car in a sheetload of colors or anything. It's good to have a different look.
Just make sure a big, cheesy wing isnt' in its future... or spinners... or a Calvin sticker peeing on a Mitsubishi emblem... or "back off" floor mats... or the "Lady of Guadalupe" air freshener... |

Mods are good. Th stripes make it look like some cheap fast and furious wannabe, instead of the purebred high class automobile she is. You should treat her like a classy lady, not a cheap hooker. Nice quality parts, subtle little tweaks,.....
not a bleached blonde wig and blue eyeliner. But that's just my opinion. Other than that cool car. |

I'm more partial to larger stripes (like on the 60's Camaros)
