What sise exhaust for true duals on an SVX engine?
I'm looking at how to build the exhaust on my Vanagon when the EG33 goes into it (no salvable SVXes were harmed for this project) and wonderind what the concensus was for tube diameter. The engine will be slightly warmed.

1 5/8, give or take a 1/16 inch. You should also look at how much room you've got regarding the overall length of the pipes. I suggest you give SVXFiles (Tom) a call to discuss the various exhaust system designs he's run through over the last couple of years.

I wouldn't make it any bigger than 2". I had 2 1/4" all the way back and it was too big for an NA motor. Would have been perfect for a turbo, S/C, or nitrous

Thanks, I have 36 inches from the axle to the back of the bumper, so I gotta keep it short. I plan to run a pipe to the front of the vehicle, then make a U turn and go into a cat and directly into a muffler followed by a stock SVX exhaust tip. If I'm careful it should *just* fit

Alright, change of plans, as long as I have the engine apart might as well build it right with 300 or so hp I kept trying to be logical and sensible in a project that isn't logical and sensible
