Bad cv joint
I've been hearing a knocking noise when I turn the steering wheel. It sounds much worse when I turn to the right. I looked underneath the car and found out the rubber boot covering the cv joint is nearly ripped in half on the passenger side of the car. I need some advice on replacing the cv joint. Any recommendations on where to purchase a new one? Do I have to replace the entire half axle? I plan on doing the work myself unless it gets too complicated.
Thanks |

It's probably easiest to replace the entire axle.
I've heard raxles.com is affordable. Unfortunately once the boot is torn it is open to gravel getting in the actual joint so just replacing the boot will probably not solve the problem.
