SVX seats - rust, rust and more rust

I've got to the part of my restoration project where I'm looking at the seats... and it aint pretty.

I'm guessing the quality of general rust proofing on the seat frame isn't up to the standards of the rest of the car. I've looked at several seats now, and all are plagued with surface rust, even the powder coated rails.

Fun fun fun...

Yeah my rails were bad. Did a swap and the new one was pretty nice. Not sure why it does that.

A metallurgist amongst us may be able to explain it in terms of galvanic corrosion, or some other weird science thingy.

Or it could just be as simple as years of slight abbrasion between the 2 has removed the protective coasting from the steel.

At least the sunroof rust is predictable. But I'm still shocked by the seat frames.
