Back from the Sandbox! Woohoo!
I made it back safe from Afghanistan after 7 months. It was a blast. sometimes pretty scary, but as much as it might have sucked at times I can honestly say a part of me misses it. I got to do and experience a lot of things that will stay with me forever. I want to thank the SVX network for all the wonderful carepackages. I couldn't get enough of that electronic sudoku lol.

Welcome back babe!
Really glad you made it through without any bad incident. Thank you for the nice photos also. It is refreshing to see you making friends with the locals, and your appreciation of their culture. Obama's hand of friendship is the way to go as I see it. As you say, Woohoo!! Joe

Re: Back from the Sandbox! Woohoo!
Unfortunately you've got Afghanistan confused with Iraq. We still have a lot of work to do in that country, but there are so many mountains and caves and bunkers. The Taliban men are not brave at all. They only attack when they are well hidden. They also like fire for effect such as firing mortars over mountains just hoping one hits us, but we can't exactly fire back at a mountain when no one is there. Its sad too because most of the people are good and honest, but the 'bad guys' have so much control over them due to the poppy trade being their number 1 export. Gosh I could go on about that country for days. This war is not going to end any time soon and if it does it will be incomplete and fall straight back into a state of disarray. But thank you all for your support. Its tough fighting a war not everyone agrees with or understands. Even harder to explain ourselves when we have to maintain opsec. But again thank you all. You're all wonderful people (but then again it takes a wonderful person to drive a wonderful car like an SVX
