I went the other day to a fun drive in the desert. You can see all kinds of Land Cruisers, Patrols, Hummers, GMC's doing offroad stunts in the sand. This guy definitely is a desert crosser with his SVX.

The nature of the SVX with its small gas tank and the open desert with no gas stations, made that guy add the additional side tanks and shovels and outer spare tyre... He also increased the height of his SVX. He is definitely a desert crosser... But why he chose the SVX? he could have chosen an Outback ort something

Small gas tank? The SVX has an 18.5 gallon tank, fairly large for coupe. That's bigger than the fuel tanks on any of Subaru's current models (including the Tribeca).

"but the SVX -- despite its maximum hoonage potential -- has always put the ugly into fugging ugly."

Is he friggin insane??? Sure this particular SVX is fugly but I can't fathom anyone thinking SVX in general are ugly cars. Sure, the windows are not for everyone but that's the only complaint I ever heard about them. And what the heck is "hoonage"? I must be older than I thought...

Dear Jonny Lieberman,
you are an asshat.

And then I saw this and it made sense.

WOV says:

Yep, they're tank shovels.

At this point, I have to wonder if someone's being expensively in on their own sort of recherche joke.

In the UAE there's plenty of folks for whom a 92 SVX would be exactly in the financial category of things you might cash in for a droll smile shared only with yourself.
