I like silverspear's design and the drawing but I would hesitate to install any bumper that will require me to discard part or all of my bumper beam.

my reluctance to buy any fiberglass body panel except the hood is the catastropic aspect of any impact Having urethane pieces would be outstanding Maybe you can pull molds off of whatever you fab up in fiberglass?

A urethane tap is definitely different than a fiberglass tap!

Worst case - to retain the big hole look without cutting the beam, use that trick that all the super pocket rockets use, and cover the beam with a flat black panel.

Yes sir, that's half intercooler, half beam in there! It all depends on how much you want that look.

I haven't worked with molding pieces this big out of urethane. But I have been trying to find as much info as I can. I have made a few molds out of urethane, but no parts. Im not sure how to make a mold this big that supports urethane. If anyone has any info, or knows a thing or two about it please let me know. Once i figure it out, maby I can make a urethane hood.

Anyways here are my final drawings.

That hood is already in existence. I bought one for my red car from Dayle. The bumper IMHO is a little too open. That center hole comes up to high and the side holes are too wide. I am all for people going for projects like this though. Go for it and it will be cool to see what the finished product looks like.

That looks awesome. If you angle the bottom lip of the "big mouth" you might get some functional downforce. Also, I think it would look a little better if the bottom part on the sides of the bumper were to flair out slightly, but in such way that it complements the back part of the front wheel well.

Just a thought.

I've attached a pic of my CWEST bumper to give you an idea of what I mean. Although, my bumper may be a little too agressive at the bottom on the sides for the SVX, I believe you could rework it to fit the SVX's look. Also, I like the rectangular cutouts in the corners.

Check my locker for more pictures. My kit is all made of fiberglass, no prastic involved. From beamlight to beamlight comes from a 2002 impreza. But I remodified it to meet my taste.

Since I already have my Flatt front end(on order), Delta side skirts and grill, and plan to get dayles vented fiberglass hood soon, I would have to say I would have been interested. However, IF you made a rear end that looked like the '89 concept svx rear end I would definatly buy one from you. Good luck! Keep us posted. (and right now I am in the middle of helping resurrect the Kaminari ground effects Kit for the Subaru XT coupe!=Thanks to X35 )

Holy hoodgap batman!

Um, as for urethane....usually urethane is a pain in the ass as far as paint prep and final fit. Usually the bake cycle will distort the rubber, leaving you with parts that fit up like the aformentioned car.(Which, by they way, is an example of among the better fitting bumpers ive seen)
