Calling Virginia-ers

I'm taking a two-day trip to Virginia next week, and am looking for some places to go. Weird attractions, great restaurants, anything! I'm on a college student's budget though, so they have to be cheap. PM me or post here with some suggestions.

We're staying in Charlottesville for 2 nights. Probably going to be checking some things out in the Richmond area on Tues and Shenandoah on Wednesday.

I'm in Richmond. Depending on what you like to do, there's plenty of stuff. There's several museums (Virginia Fine Arts, Science, Edgar Allen Poe, etc.), window shopping and lunch in Carytown, some decent bars and restaurants downtown (Richmond LOVES food), lots of historic stuff like Hollywood Cemetary and Maymont.

If you're looking for anything specific, let me know.

Thanks, we'll probably check out the cemetary and atleast one of the museums.
I'd be cool with a little meeting, but I'm going down with one of my friends, so it would need to be someplace he would enjoy to. Maybe dinner somewhere inexpensive?

I'm between Cary and Grove on Lock Ln., just west of Carytown where all of the huge houses are.

I'd be up for a meeting if my boyfriend wasn't getting here tomorrow. I haven't seen him since September so I don't feel like sharing.

Lucky Lounge down in Shockoe Slip has half-price nights on Tuesdays and has a Vegas theme to it. Half-priced food and beverages. Tuesday night is steal-the-glass night at Capital Ale House in Innsbrook or 2 for 1 wings at the downtown location. Food's kind of expensive though. Too bad you won't be here on dollar burger night. Bogart's on Lombardy has good food for how cheap it is. The vegetable whip is awesome (veggies and cheese folded up in a potato pancake). There's literally dozens of restaurants in Carytown, the Fan, and downtown that have dinners under $15 since the area caters heavily to college-aged residents.

Well in the revised itinerary, we're going to be staying around Charlottseville tomorrow, Richmond wednesday, and Shenandoah on the way back on thursday.

My buddy's not sure if he really want to meet up or if we're just gonna stay on our own, but if you want to PM me your phone I'll give you a call if he decides to be social.
