Any way to check the IRIS system?

It may just be me but my SVX is not felling as quick as it used to, and i want to know if its the SVX or is it me? Theres no check engine light, and the engine seems to be running smoth with no knocks or tings. It burns no oil. To test how fast my SVX was, one of my friends with a 92 subaru legacy auto AWD went and dragged from a stop to about 40MPH. My SVX is a manule and he got a jump on me, but it did end up pulling about a car 3/4 car lenght by the end of 1st, and pulled one full lenght by 40MPH.

Uh... even with the manual taking the SVX to 40 isn't going to put wind through your hair. :/

Sounds about right though with the full car length by 40.

Don't ask how I know.

If the IRIS is not working, it will be the resonate end that is not there. The result would be that the engine does not take off when 4000 rpm is reached, it will just flatten out from 3500 on.
Try winding it out in 2nd/3rd, watch the tacho, to see it respond at 4000rpms.

Harvey.
